SRMA / ARMA Conference (day one)
SRMA and the Northern Colorado Chapter of the Association of Records Managers and Administrators will hold a joint conference, "From Chaos to Common Ground: Connecting Archivists and Records Managers," on October 26 and 27, 2005, in Denver. October 26 will feature Greg Hunter, Certified Archivist and Certified Records Manager, discussing web resources and other issues of concern to both archivists and records managers.

American Jewish Icons: Temples of American Identity: Jewish Museums
in the Newest Jewish City in the World
University of Denver 's own Professor David Shneer discusses the Skirball Museum and the Museum of Tolerance in Los Angeles as key texts for understanding how American Jews use museums to project diverse visions of what it means to be an American Jew. Presented by The Center for Judaic Studies and the Humanities Institute at the University of Denver in conjunction with the National Foundation of Jewish Culture and with support from the National Endowment for the Humanities.

Professor Todd Endelman of University of Michigan will talk about the rise of David Levinsky as a key text for understanding how central immigration has been to American Jewish history. This event is co-sponsored with the Rocky Mountain Jewish Historical Society. Presented by The Center for Judaic Studies and the Humanities Institute at the University of Denver in conjunction with the National Foundation of Jewish Culture and with support from the National Endowment for the Humanities.

DU Archives Tours
Every Friday during October (Oct. 7,14,21,28) the University of Denver
Archives/Special Collections department will offer guided tours from noon to 1 pm. The DU Archives/Special Collections is located on the lower level of Penrose Library, 2150 E. Evans Ave., Denver CO, just west of the intersection of S. University Blvd and E. Evans Ave.
