Ms. Smatla has considerable experience restoring and preserving silent films, including her work at The Cinema Lab in Englewood, CO. She was a 2008 recipient of the San Francisco Silent Film Festival Preservation Fellowship, where she spent three weeks at Monaco Digital Film Labs restoring a 35mm nitrate film from the George Eastman House collection.
