Please join SRMA for a presentation by intellectual property lawyer Dave Ratner on copyright and how it applies to archivists and our collections. In addition to an overview of copyright for archivists based on responses to the survey sent in April, Mr. Ratner will respond to questions from participants.

Following the presentation and Q&A session with Dave Ratner, the session will continue for an open forum style exchange where participants can ask and answer questions for each other based on our own experience and knowledge.

When: June 29th, 2023 from 2:30 PM to 4:30 PM
Where: Virtual (Zoom link will be sent to registered participants only)

Please keep questions for Mr. Ratner general enough that all participants can learn from the answer. His expertise is intellectual property law, but he will not be providing legal advice. He will offer his professional insight and knowledge of copyright and how it can impact access and use of archival material. Specific questions about how your fellow archivists handle paperwork, decision making, etc. can be saved for the open forum.

If you would like to submit a question in advance, please email SRMA Continuing Education Coordinator Amber D'Ambrosio at adambrosio@coloradomesa.edu with SRMA Copyright for Archivists in the subject field.
